Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Database Administrator to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client in the DMV area. This is a full-time, remote position ideal for someone with a strong background in database administration and a passion for working with advanced technologies in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Independently manage and perform all required functional duties.
Design, create, and maintain databases in a client/server environment.
Utilize desktop database tools, scripts, or queries to process and validate extracted data.
Leverage expertise in Oracle 19c for database management.
Administer AWS Redshift Data Warehouse and Oracle RDS DB systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve production data load issues in a large-scale AWS data warehouse.
Administer, test, and implement computer databases while applying knowledge of database management systems.
Establish and maintain data load and validation procedures to ensure data integrity and availability in line with daily deadlines.
Coordinate and manage changes to computer databases, ensuring proper documentation and validation.
Populate assigned databases with validated records from structured and semi-structured data sources.
Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.
Work independently or as part of a team to maintain and enhance databases within an application area.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in database administration.
Must meet specific certification and training requirements in accordance with DoD 8570.1-M, DoDD 8570.1 (Certified within 6 months of assignment).

Skills & Experience:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong critical thinking skills with an ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
Eagerness to learn and apply new technical concepts.
Experience with data science, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms to support analytics objectives.
Solid understanding and experience in applying Structured Query Language (SQL) and Non-Structured Query Language (NoSQL).
Experience with MSSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, PostGRES, and Oracle database solutions.
Familiarity with applying complex mathematical and statistical concepts.
