As an Associate Manager, Laboratory Operations, you will lead a team of laboratory professionals to ensure the efficient, compliant, and high-quality delivery of laboratory services in a regulated environment.

What you'll be doing:
  • Supervising daily operations of laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate testing.
  • Hiring, training, and managing performance of team members under the guidance of senior management.
  • Monitoring inventory and managing supply budgets to support uninterrupted lab operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all lab activities.
  • Leading process improvement initiatives and presenting outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Reviewing laboratory metrics and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
  • Supporting implementation of new tests, equipment, and procedures.
  • Acting as a backup for daily lab operations as needed.
  • Responsible for serving as a technical specialist for laboratory operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Tracking metrics related to capacity, utilization of resources, and quality
  • Scheduling people, projects, and equipment in a high throughput production environment
  • Gathering feedback and making process improvements to improve employee engagement and retention
  • Responsible for routine sample preparation duties including extraction of biological samples in the wet laboratory using robotic liquid handlers
  • Use and maintenance of Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometers and Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) systems. Calibration of equipment, tuning and compound optimization, integration of chromatographic peaks generated by LC-MS/MS
  • Prepares data for upload to Watson LIMS system and analyzes the data according to standard operating procedures. Uses good scientific judgement, adhering to regulatory guidelines and proactively initiating troubleshooting experiments in response to data anomalies. Communicates findings with cross functional stakeholders


What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a relevant laboratory discipline.
  • Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this role:
  • Strong understanding of laboratory operations, testing procedures, and regulatory compliance (e.g., CAP/CLIA).
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor laboratory staff.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance/control principles, safety regulations, and process improvement methodologies.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $58,800.00 - $147,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
